A solid relationship between an artist and a producer is one that cannot be broken. Often in the background of the limelight, these men behind the boards can take a track from good to great with their own special touches. Artists, give praise to your Producers, they are what that is.
Reggie Drop Beatz, originally from Savannah, GA, is a producer out of Dallas, TX who blew me away with his versatility and ability to conquer any and every sound imaginable.
Reggie tells YSA, “I started producing at the age of 10, my mom was a DJ and a radio personality for k104 and 97.9 the beat and I would always ask her to teach me how to DJ but she never had the time. So on my 10th bday she brought me a drum machine, up until that point the only beats I had ever made was just ones on my desk. I would always tap my pencil on my desk for people to freestyle to. Once I really sat down and started using the drum machine it sort of came like second nature and the thought of becoming a DJ faded and I pursued becoming a producer full time from that point. Over the years I got better and perfected my craft which led me to where I am today.
Some of my begining projects included me making tracks for my big brother who is actually in 32 ent and Fetti Gang which is OJ the Juicemans label. I would go to Atlanta every summer just to make music with my big brother. A lot of my past projects were just me tryin to figure out my sound really. Presently, however, I have been blessed enough to be apart of a Mixtape called ‘Progression Weed and Codeine’ In which I made placement on with production as well as me rapping. I also was apart of ‘Kill Ya Self’ the mixtape which is now on datpiff that dropped on new years.
My Future Projects include my first solo mixtape which will include all my production entilted ‘ Dont Sleep On your Dreams’. I’m also currently working on Mr 2 eights ‘The chonicles of a heroic villain’ mixtape, as well as Bass Clef’s album ‘The league of extraordinary Gentlmen’ . I hope to just make music for any and everyone Im really just doing it out of the passion I love and have for music and working with any and every artist that likes my sound.
With my music I wish to accomplish getting my message out to the world that anything is possible through hard work and dedication. I wish to change peoples lives by influencing them to do better because you can always do better than where you currently are in life, there are no limits on how great you can become as a person. I want people to know that we all live for a purpose everyone has a role and anyone can make a difference for the betterment of society.”
