The Report Card Review: Tay Rockit – Married With Villians

Published on October th, 2011

Tay Rockit’s, Married With Villians, takes on the idea that, Tay, goes from being an average person, into a superhero that faces the problem’s of the world. Every song on the album tells a story that goes from, The Engagement, to, The Divorce.

Pros:
Tay has a versatile rap style that won’t bore you mid way through the tracks. His flow is pretty solid and lyrically, he’s pretty creative. His content pertains a lot to many people’s lives, thus making for a solid listen. Production wise, the album has a great sound. Each track can stand on its own and be worth a listen.

Cons:
The tracks that are a struggle to listen to really take away from this project. There are a few tracks that shouldn’t have made on it on this album and are on it. The flow of the album is difficult also. Even with a themed set of songs, the progression of one track into the other doesn’t occur. This in itself can make an album that should be a solid listen, hard to listen to. The other flaw is that a majority of the good tracks are in the beginning of the album which gets the listener intrigued and then the arrive at the latter half of the album. The second half is a bit of a downer and doesn’t hold its weight against the first half.

Conclusion:
Check out the project, there are definitely tracks you will like. I’m sure as Tay progresses as an artist, his music will too.

Songs In Heavy Rotation:
Day Dreaming, Beginning Of The End, Bad Choices, & Bicycle.
